Minimum temperatures in various districts have been recorded 2-3 degrees Celsius below normal.

As cold wave grips several states in north India and hill state like Himachal Pradesh experiences heavy snowfall, Punjab has witnessed a drop in temperature accompanied by intense cold wave.

Amid the severe weather conditions, IMD has predicted intense cold in the state for the next few days.

On December 19, Shimla recorded a minimum temperature of 5°C, whereas Faridkot, Ropar, Gurdaspur, and Amritsar in Punjab registered 4°C, 4.3°C, 4.6°C, and 4.9°C respectively.
