Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann's administration continues to prioritize the welfare of all societal segments, focusing keenly on senior citizens, widows, destitute women, individuals with disabilities, and vulnerable children. Under the aegis of Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur, the state is committed to executing social welfare initiatives with utmost transparency and efficiency. In a recent gathering at the Punjab Civil Secretariat, Dr. Baljit Kaur emphasized the significance of these welfare programs, underscoring their direct impact on ordinary citizens' lives. She insisted on the seamless and obstacle-free disbursement of benefits to entitled recipients. The discussion at the meeting revolved around essential welfare initiatives, including the Old Age Pension and financial aid for widows, destitute women, disabled persons, and orphaned children. Dr. Kaur stressed the critical nature of these programs as support systems for marginalized communities and issued a stern warning against any dereliction of duty by officials involved in their implementation. The government's unwavering commitment is to ensure that the underserved population of Punjab can lead lives of dignity. Timely and efficient delivery of these benefits is seen as pivotal not only to improving quality of life but also in strengthening societal trust and confidence. Reaffirming the Aam Aadmi Party government's dedication, she outlined the integral role of these social security schemes in realizing the vision of a thriving and progressive “Rangla Punjab.” The meeting was attended by senior officials including the Special Chief Secretary of the Department, Rajee P. Srivastava, Director Dr. Shena Aggarwal, and Special Secretary Vimmi Bhullar, among others.
