Haryana to set up sanctuary for cows

In a significant move to address the escalating issue of stray cows in Haryana, the state government plans to establish its inaugural cow sanctuary on panchayat land, Times of India reported.

Two potential sites, spanning 100 acres in Nuh's Hassanpur village and another in Farrukhnagar, are under consideration.

Spearheaded by an IFS officer as the field director, the project collaboratively involves the animal husbandry department, Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG), and Nuh district administration. Scheduled for completion by the end of 2024, the sanctuary aims to mitigate stray cattle challenges, with MCG pledging financial support.
