Haryana Energy minister addresses public grievances in Bijli panchayat

Haryana Energy Minister Chaudhary Ranjit Singh has directed the officers of the Power Corporation to supply electricity to the consumers in rural and urban areas as per the prescribed schedule and to solve the public problems at the primary level.

The Energy Minister attended the Bijli Panchayat organized by Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam in Hisar today and listened to the problems of consumers of urban and rural areas. In the Bijli Panchayat, public representatives from 16 Gram Panchayats of six districts and from different villages put their problems before the Energy Minister.

Complaints related to hanging electric wires in the power panchayat, solar panels for panchayat houses, giving new electricity connections to farmers for shrimp farming, installation of transformers, employment, three phase supply lines, removal of obstacles in 11 and 33 KW lines from residential areas, shifting and tightening and electricity in dhanis came to the fore. Apart from this, problems related to removal of high tension wire from the residential and schools were kept, on which he assured to complete the related works soon. He also gave necessary directions to the officers to redress the problems.
The Energy Minister informed that the works of electricity tubewell connections of the applicants of the year 2018-19 have been completed and soon the tubewell connections from 2020 till date will also be completed. He instructed the officers to provide pending electricity connections in dhanis at the earliest and to do the work of consumers on priority basis. He asked the officers of the power department to conduct regular inspections in cities and rural areas to check the incidents of power theft. Additional precautions should be taken on high voltage lines so that no untoward incident occurs. Complete the pending works of smart meters soon.

Addressing the media, Chaudhary Ranjit Singh said that farmers are being given the highest compensation for the crops. An 800 KW thermal plant will be commissioned by the state government in Yamunanagar. A proposal has been sent to set up another unit at Kheddar Thermal Plant in Hisar. He said that under the new scheme implemented by the government, electricity bill will be paid every month through the app. On a trial basis, it has been implemented in four districts, including Hisar.
