Special Buses for Karthigai Deepam in Tiruvannamalai

Chennai, Nov 25 (PTI): Tamil Nadu State Express Transport Corporation (SETC) has announced special bus services for devotees attending the Karthigai Deepam festival at the esteemed Sri Arunachaleshwar temple in Tiruvannamalai. The initiative was shared by the corporation on Tuesday.

The auspicious event started on November 24 with the traditional hoisting of the temple flag atop the flagmast. SETC managing director R Mohan stated that special buses will be deployed to accommodate long-distance travelers visiting the hill temple for this annual festival and ensuring their return trips. Buses will also be available from Chennai.

SETC will provide ultra-deluxe and air-conditioned buses equipped with seating and sleeper facilities departing from Nagercoil, Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, Sengottai, Madurai, and Coimbatore on December 2 and 3.

Additionally, in light of the full moon (Pournami) festival in Tiruvannamalai, 160 buses, both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned, will commute between Chennai and Tiruvannamalai on December 3 and 4.
