Nepal’s Cabinet recommended dissolving parliament in an emergency meeting on Sunday, the state broadcaster and other media reported. At an emergency meeting called by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, the council of ministers recommended to dissolve the Parliament. The recommendation has been sent to the President, Energy Minister Barsaman Pun said. However, it was not immediately clear what triggered the decision. Meanwhile, Narayankaji Shrestha, Spokesperson of ruling Nepal Communist Party said the decision has been made in haste as all the ministers weren’t present in the cabinet meeting. He further added that it cannot be implemented as it is against the democratic norms and would take the nation backwards.
