Maharashtra on Friday reported 47,827 new COVID-19 cases, it's highest one-day rise since the pandemic began. The caseload now stands at 29,04,076.
As many as 202 coronavirus patients died in the state in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 55379. The case-fatality ratio stands at 1.91% in the state
The state's capital Mumbai alone reported 8,832 new cases and 20 deaths in the last 24 hours. This is Mumbai's highest one-day rise in Covid-19 cases since the pandemic began last year. The health department has sealed 657 buildings and increased containment zones increased to 70.
Pune too on Friday recorded its highest daily covid cases with 9,086 new cases.
