The demand for online food vendors has seen a massive surge amid the coronavirus outbreak in China. As part of anti-virus controls, factories, restaurants and cinemas remain closed. One e-commerce giant, JD.com stated that its drivers delivered over 70,000 tons of rice flour and grains and 27 million litres of cooking oil among other essentials over the past month. Employees are seen dressed in gloves and masks as they spray disinfectant over the packages. Fresh fruits and vegetables are packed in padded blue boxes. To meet the increasing demand, the company plans to hire 20,000 people. Measures are also being taken to ensure contact-less delivery.
