I was ready to bat with a fractured thumb: Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja who was seen padded up in the dressing room during India's 2nd innings of the Sydney Test vs Australia despite a fractured thumb, said that he was ready to bat had another wicket fell in India's resilient effort to save the Test. In an interview to India Today, Jadeja said that since it wasn't possible for him to play all kinds of shots due to pain, he was mentally planning out his innings and which shots would he play. He added that the team thought they could even win the match when Pant and Pujara were batting and Jadeja had a word with the management that he would go out to bat if India managed to reach a point from where the match could be won. He though didn't have to bat as Ravichandran Ashwin and Hnauma Vihari batted out rest of the overs to draw the Sydney Test.
