Hit Australian children’s musical group 'The Wiggles' have landed in a trouble.
A bizzare song titled 'Pappadum' went viral 6 years after it was released and is facing the wrath of netizens for promoting Indian stereotypes and being culturally insensitive.
The song features an Indian woman and four foreigners dressed in sarees and kurtas singing and dancing to the weird song holding papads in their hands.
The Wiggles' founder Anthony Field has apologised after the backlash saying that he did not intend to be culturally insensitive to the Indian community or add to ethnic stereotyping. He added that the song was intended to be a celebration of Indian culture.
