LG 48-inch CX OLED TV review: Best TV for gamers?

Apr 14, 2021 15:27 IST

LG CX is LG’s 2020 lineup of OLED TVs. The LG CX is the successor to the LG C9, which launched in 2019. The LG CX is available in 48, 55, 65 and 77-inch screen sizes. Like the LG C9, the LG CX has four HDMI ports, all of which support HDMI 2.1. The LG CX is a 4K OLED TV with support for HDR 10, HLG, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. The TV has an extremely thin panel but has a slight bulge at the back to accommodate the components and connectivity options. Being an OLED TV, the LG CX has pixel-level brightness controls giving it an infinite contrast ratio. If you are looking for a premium TV experience, then the LG CX can be one to consider. It has an OLED panel that delivers rich colours, bright highlights and an infinite contrast ratio. The TV is also a smart TV and runs on LG’s WebOS UI. This gives you access to all popular streaming services from the get-go. If you will consume content in a dark room, then an OLED is a better option than an LCD because it can deliver true blacks and does not have the halo effect found on LED’s when trying to reproduce the colour black. However, if you consume content in a bright room, then a high-end LED might be a better option as a high-end LED can get brighter than an OLED in a bright room and the halo around the blacks is less visible
