On a day when Team India began their T20 series against England, Indian women's cricket team was also in action but had a disappointing outing. South Africa beat them by 6 runs on Duckworth–Lewis method and took a 2-1 lead in the 5 match ODI series. Batting first, India finished at 248/5, thanks to Punam Raut's gritty 77. The target didn't prove enough as Lizelle Lee lit up Lucknow with an unbeaten 132 and made sure her side was par on Duckworth–Lewis when rain came down. South Africa were 223/4 at that stage and beat the hosts. The 4th ODI will be played at the same ground on Sunday.
