The weather department has predicted that 'extremely heavy rainfall' will continue in parts of the metropolis which has been brought to a standstill due to waterlogging. A red alert has been issued for Thane and Palghar and an orange alert has been sounded for the maximum city. With no end to showers in sight, authorities have issued an advisory asking residents to stay away from the sea and waterlogged areas.
