In a setback for the Police, a Pune court has ruled that the arrest of Anand Teltumbde, a professor of Goa Institute of Management, was illegal. The court upheld the Supreme Court order of January 14, which had granted him protection from arrest for four weeks. The Goa professor is wanted by the Pune Police for his alleged naxal links, in connection with the Elgaar Parishad event in December 2017. "Welcome the decision. But what police has done, the arrest and all the drama, is objectionable," said the Dalit scholar.
