China's badminton superstar Lin Dan has announced his retirement. The 36-year-old is a 2-time Olympic Gold Medallist and a 5-time World Champion and one of the most decorated players in the modern era. Super Dan as he is famously called put up a social media post to announce his future plans. Apart from Olympic and World Championship glory, Lin Dan has been a 5-time Sudirman Cup winner & has won 6 gold medals at the Thomas Cup. Lin Dan is the first and only one to win all 9 major titles in the badminton world & was the first men's singles player to retain the Olympic gold after successfully defended his 2008 win with a gold in 2012 London Olympics.
