Kannada actor Divya Spandana is not dead; currently vacationing in Geneva

Kanada actor Divya Spandana made headlines on September 6 after her death rumours started circulating on social media. Now, a journalist who spoke to Divya has refuted the rumours of her death. She said that the actor is alive and well.

She tweeted, ‘Just spoke to @divyaspandana. She is in Geneva, was sleeping peacefully till calls came in. Whoever the irresponsible person was, who tweeted this and the news organisations that put it out as news flash, shame on you.’

Another journalist also posted a picture with Divya from Geneva and wrote that it was wonderful meeting the very talented and genteel lady for dinner in Geneva.

‘Wonderful meeting the very talented and genteel lady @divyaspandana for dinner in Geneva. We talked about many things including our love for Bangalore,’ she wrote in her tweet.

Fans of the actor have called out those spreading fake news about her death.

Divya's death rumours possibly emerged as she shares her name with Kannada actor-director Vijay Raghavendra's wife Spandana, who died in Bangkok last month.

Divya Spandana, also known by her stage name Ramya, quit films 10 years ago to pursue a career in politics. She joined Congress and has been serving the party for the last decade.
