Prime Video's 'Playdate' Premieres Nov 12: A Thrilling Action-Comedy

Prime Video has announced the premiere of the action-comedy "Playdate" on November 12, featuring the talents of "Reacher" star Alan Ritchson and actor-comedian Kevin James.

The film is directed by Luke Greenfield, known for his work on "Let’s Be Cops" and "The Girl Next Door." It promises a high-octane mix of slapstick humor and explosive action, merging the antics of suburban dads with full-blown chaos.

In "Playdate," Kevin James plays Brian, a recently unemployed accountant who agrees to spend a casual afternoon with stay-at-home dad Jeff, portrayed by Alan Ritchson, along with their sons. The seemingly simple day quickly escalates into a wild chase involving a team of ruthless mercenaries.

The official synopsis describes the film as an outrageous, action-packed journey where "small talk and football tossing" turn into a clash of dad life and unexpected danger.

The cast also includes Sarah Chalke, Alan Tudyk, Benjamin Pajak, Banks Pierce, Hiro Kanagawa, with key roles played by Stephen Root and Isla Fisher.

Written by Neil Goldman, "Playdate" is produced by Luke Greenfield, Jason Benoit, Sean Patrick O’Reilly, Mark Fasano, and Jeffrey Greenstein. Both Ritchson and Goldman serve as executive producers of the film.
