In a major move, which will benefit Indians the most, Canada has announced enhancements to its super visa program to make it easier for Canadians to reunite with their parents and grandparents in the country.
Under the changes announced by Immigration Minister, parents and grandparents coming to Canada can now stay here for up to five years per entry. The changes will kick in from July 4.
Previously, the super visa program allowed parents and grandparents with a super visa to remain in Canada for 2 years at a time.
The super visa programme, started in 2011, allows Canadian citizens and permanent residents to sponsor their parents and grandparents to come and live with them in Canada for extended periods of time.
Indians in Canada 
In 2020, 50,841 Indian citizens were invited to apply for permanent residence in Canada. They made up for 47 per cent of the total invites that were issued during the period.
In 2021, about one lakh Indians became permanent residents of Canada as the country admitted a record number of 4,05,000 new immigrants in its history.

Moustafa said that police and FBI came onboard the flight once it landed in Missouri. The officers reportedly took the man into custody, and also questioned passengers about what had occurred.
American Airlines said, "We're grateful to our crew members, who are consistently dedicated to the safety and care of our customers and who handled the circumstances with the utmost skill and professionalism."

 Japan and Singapore are reportedly tied for first place with a visa-free score of 192. This means that Japanese and Singapore citizens can travel to 192 countries visa-free or on a visa-on-arrival system. In second place are South Korea and Germany with a score of 190. Finland, Italy, Luxembourg, and Spain round off the Top 3 with a score of 189.
 India improved its ranking from 90th&nbsp;to 83rd&nbsp;with a visa-free score of 60, as per reports. Neighbouring Pakistan is 108th in the list of 111. It has a score of 31.
 At the bottom of the list are Afghanistan and Iraq, at positions 111 and 110, respectively.

Travel cost to Himachal Pradesh's&nbsp;Lahaul-Spiti&nbsp;is going to bit more expensive as tourists will have to pay a tax to enter the district.&nbsp;
All the vehicles, including trucks, buses, and motorbikes having registration numbers of other states will be charged to enter Lahaul valley.
The tunnel was inaugurated on October 3 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to officials, the number of tourists has increased significantly in the Lahaul-Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh after the construction of the Atal Tunnel.
The amount collected at the barrier will be used to provide better facilities to tourists, and development in the local areas.&nbsp;
Motorbikes are being charged Rs 50 while the tourists coming in cars will have to pay Rs 200 to enter Lahaul. The entry fee of SUVs and MUVs has been fixed at Rs 300. The entry fee for buses and trucks is Rs 500.
The charges will apply to the vehicles going towards Lahaul, Leh, Pangi, and Kishtwar using this route.

Motorbikes are being charged Rs 50 while the tourists coming in cars will have to pay Rs 200 to enter Lahaul. The entry fee of SUVs and MUVs has been fixed at Rs 300. The entry fee for buses and trucks is Rs 500.
The charges will apply to the vehicles going towards Lahaul, Leh, Pangi, and Kishtwar using this route.

A Dutch multinational firm is all set to build a floating city in the Maldives. The city will be located just 10 minutes away from the capital, Mal&eacute;.
The Maldives floating city will be able to accommodate 20,000 people and residents will be allowed to shift to the completed sections by early 2024. &nbsp; As per reports, the city will hosts houses, shops and schools. And the price for a studio apartment in the luxurious floating city will be between USD 150,000 to USD 250,000 for a family home.
The city is being built to tackle the effects of climate crises and rising sea levels. Most of the islands of Maldives are less than one metre from sea level and they are expected to be under the water soon.&nbsp;
However, a floating city can manage to stay unaffected as it will rise with the rising water level.
