G20: from security risks to tsunamis, Bali preps for everything

Indonesia on Tuesday will host the G20 leaders' summit, gathering the globe's most powerful figures together on the resort island of Bali instead of the traffic-clogged capital Jakarta.

Seventeen world leaders -- bar Russian President Vladimir Putin, and the leaders of Mexico and Brazil -- will seek solutions to myriad global crises on the Muslim-majority country's mostly Hindu "Island of Gods".

The security measures will see 18,000 military and police officers deployed to the Nusa Dua area of Bali, popular with tourists.

Not only this, the security force being deployed for the coming summit includes 1,500 officers on standby specifically for evacuation operations in the event of a natural disaster.

The G20 is a forum of the 20 most advanced economies that represent 85% of the global GDP, 75% of global trade and 66% of the world population.
