Chandrayaan-2: Now all eyes on Moon landing

Jul 21, 2019 23:21 IST

Now that Chandrayaan-2 has been successfully launched into Earth's orbit by the heaviest rocket in ISRO's garage, the 44-metre tall, 640-tonne GSLV MkIII, also nicknamed 'fat boy' and 'Baahubali', all eyes will be on September 7 when Chandryaan-2's lander Vikram and rover Pragyaan are expected to make a soft landing on the moon and carry out experiments for 14 days. The moon mission also has an orbiter that will go around the moon for the next one year collecting information.
