One of iOS 14’s key features brings system-wide picture-in-picture (PiP) mode, allowing videos to hover over apps or continue playing in the background. However, YouTube has reportedly restricted the compatibility with the picture-in-picture feature on its website, unless you pay for YouTube Premium. Interestingly, MacRumours reported that users can watch YouTube videos in PiP mode if they’re embedded on a website. And whether or not you’re a paying customer, it also works with YouTube videos in Safari on an iPad.
