A smartphone's contribution towards bad health has no end. A new study presented at the ACC Latin America conference suggested that being hooked to one's smartphone might lead to a decrease in physical activity. Furthermore, it stated that youngsters who were glued to their phones for 5 or more hours a day, developed sedentary behaviours, and had a 43%increased risk of obesity. Conducted on over a 1000 students with an average age of 19-20 years, it was found that the subjects were twice as likely to drink more sugary drinks, have fast food, sweets, snacks and have decreased physical activity with an average phone usage of 5 or more hours a day.
