According to the researchers, the cosmic event of a collision between two stars billions of years ago, gave the Earth its most commercially precious metals — gold, silver, platinum and uranium. Bartos said, 'This means that in each of us, we would find an eyelash worth of these elements, mostly in the form of iodine, which is essential to life."
