An infuriated Karnataka BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal on Monday claimed that BS Yediyurappa will not remain Chief Minister for long and that the high command has decided that the next CM will be from North Karnataka. Yatnal, who accused the CM of diverting all development projects to his native district Shivamogga, said that ₹125 crore had come for his constituency Vijayapura which was taken by the CM, triggering the fight between the two. While there have been speculations regarding the change in leadership in Karnataka due to CM's age, the state BJP has said that the 77-year-old leader will continue to hold top office.
