World's largest painting sells for $62 million at an auction in Dubai

'The Journey of Humanity', which is believed to be the largest painting in the world, made by British artist Sacha Jafri, was sold for $62 million at an auction in Dubai.

The painting is split into 70 framed sections spanning approximately 17,176 sq ft. To put that into perspective, the painting is as big as four basketball courts put together.

All 70 segments were bought by Andre Abdoune, a French national residing in Dubai. Originally, the painting was was meant to be sold in segments.

The money will be used to help charities supporting children across the globe.
