Safaa Ahmed, a well-known Syrian television anchor, was killed alongside two others in an overnight Israeli strike on Damascus. The Syrian state news agency SANA reported the General Authority for Radio and Television named the journalist a martyr. The Syrian defence ministry said the Israeli military targeted Damascus with drones and planes at around 2 in the morning from the ‘direction of the occupied Golan Heights.’ Videos posted on social media show an explosion next to Syria's Telecom building, west of the city's military airport.
