An acrobatic and aerial show captured the attention of hundreds of Chileans on Saturday 21 night in Santiago’s O'Higgins Park as performers contorted their bodies in mid-air during a spectacle that included large cranes, lights, and aerial gymnastics.
The show Carillon: The Flight of Time used moving machines on three different stages. The show included a large crane some 80 meters above the ground.
The director of the company Kitonb said the show and skills showcased during the outdoor performance reflected the 20 years of experience.
"It is a show that unites many visual, acrobatic, and artistic forms. It is a show that sees choreographies interact directly with large scenic machinery," said Angelo Bonello, director of Kitonb.
The aerial manoeuvres by the acrobatic dancers created a theatrical show that told the story of the passage of time of the four seasons, providing a visual reflection of time and nature.
The performance was brought to Santiago during the “Santiago a Mil,” a festival that aims to bring free and low-cost artistic and cultural events to Chile.
It was the first time Carillon, the Flight of Time, had performed in South America.
