Brig. Gen. Yossi Sariel, the head of Israel’s secretive Unit 8200, has resigned after taking responsibility for intelligence failures leading up to the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel. Sariel, who previously called resignation "cowardice," was publicly identified after published a book under an alias. His resignation follows reports of missed warnings by Unit 8200 regarding Hamas' plans.
