A 45-year-old Belgian TikTok user faked his death and then turned up at his funeral in a helicopter to teach his extended family a lesson about valuing him and keeping in touch, according to multiple media outlets.
David Baerten along with his wife and children planned the prank which ended with a staged funeral.
David's daughter announced his death on social media with an emotional tribute.
The Belgian then startled the mourners at his funeral by turning up in a helicopter rather than a hearse. While some members of his family rushed to embrace him, others looked confused.
David's social media followers however weren't too impressed and called his prank 'cruel'.
