USA: Indian-American teen wins famous Spelling Bee contest

An Indian-American teenager has won the 2023 edition of the Scripps National Spelling Bee competition.

14-year-old Dev Shah won $50,000 in prize money on June 1, 2023. He correctly spelt the 11-letter word 'psammophile' to win the contest.

Dev is reportedly the 22nd Spelling Bee champ of South Asian heritage in the last 24 years.
