A massive fire tore through a duplex home in US city of Philadelphia on Wednesday, killing 13 people, including seven children.
Fire officials warned the toll could grow as firefighters searched the site, where 26 people had been staying.
The four smoke alarms in the building, which was public housing, do not appear to have been working, officials said.
The blaze toll is being called the highest in a single fire in the city in at least a century.
Later, a candlelit vigil was held for the 13 victims of the fire. Locals laid flowers at a makeshift memorial as they mourned the victims.
