Ukraine-Russia war: Zelenskyy says won't forgive or forget as Putin tells Kyiv to surrender

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has vowed to punish everyone who 'committed atrocities' in the war that has claimed lives of hundreds, including women and children. Zelenskyy said that 'they will not forget, they will not forgive' those involved.

Zelenskyy's pledge to not forgive or forget came as Russian President Vladimir Putin vowed to press ahead with his invasion of Ukraine unless Kyiv surrenders.

Putin has said that he will achieve his goals in Ukraine 'through negotiation or through war'.

Russian forces continue to pummel Ukrainian cities from the air, land and sea, with warnings that they are preparing an assault on the capital city of Kyiv.

The number of refugees fleeing Ukraine has crossed 1.5 million as Russian troops target major cities in Ukraine.
