Days after Tyre Nichols, the 29-year old man who died after being severely beaten up by five Memphis Police officers on January 7, authorities released the video footage showing violent moments.
The four videos show the officers, who are also Black, chasing and pummeling Nichols and leaving him on the pavement propped against a squad car as they fist-bump and celebrate their actions.
In one of the videos, Nichols can then be seen running as an officer fires a Taser at him.
On January 7, 2023, Nichols, a FedEx worker, was pulled out of his car by officers who could be heard saying, "I'm just trying to go home," and at one point he repeatedly screams, "Mom, Mom, Mom."
