Ankara, Nov 12 (AP) A tragic incident has struck the Turkish military as a cargo aircraft crash claimed the lives of all 20 personnel on board. The unfortunate event was confirmed by Turkiye's Defence Minister Yasar Guler, who shared the news on Wednesday.

The C-130 aircraft, which had embarked from Azerbaijan, was on its way back to Turkiye when it met with disaster on Tuesday. It crashed in the Sighnaghi municipality of Georgia, near the Azerbaijani border.

Defence Minister Guler expressed deep sorrow stating, “Our heroic comrades-in-arms were martyred on November 11, 2025, when our C-130 military cargo plane, which had taken off from Azerbaijan en route to our country, crashed near the Georgia-Azerbaijan border.” This message was shared on X, accompanied by photos of the military personnel lost in the crash.
