US Treasury Secretary Jannet Yellen accidentally tried a dish made from hallucinogenic mushrooms during her recent four-day visit to China.

Yellen clarified that someone else ordered the “delicious mushroom dish” for her. She added that she did not feel any ill-effects from it.

The dish is made from Lanmaoa asiatica mushrooms. Experts said these can be hallucinogenic and poisonous.

An expert from the Kunming Institute of Botany told CNN that scientists have not identified the compounds responsible for causing the hallucinations so far.

“It remains a bit of a mystery, and most evidence is anecdotal. I have a friend who mistakenly ate them and hallucinated for three days,” he added.

The US Treasury Secretary said the mushrooms were cooked properly, which is why no one experienced any hallucinations.
