In a fresh development in a political controversy in America, two people reportedly pleaded guilty to the theft and sale of a diary belonging to the daughter of US President Joe Biden.

Aimee Harris and Robert Kurlander were accused of plotting to steal items belonging to Ashley Biden from Florida and transporting them over state lines in 2020 when Joe Biden was a Presidential candidate.

Biden was not named in court documents, but details matched what has been known about the cases, according to news reports.

A group called Project Veritas has said that it received the diary from "tipsters" who said it had been abandoned in a room. Veritas said that it turned the journal over to the authorities and was not involved in anything illegal.
