A slip of tongue by US President Joe Biden has gone viral on social media. Biden was addressing a meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council in Saudi Arabia's Jeddah on 16 July, the final day of his Middle East tour.

While referring to US military action in the region, Biden hailed American troops, and accidentally said selfishness rather than selflessness. He quickly recovered and corrected his mistake.

Biden said, "We'll always honour the bravery and selfishness... selflessness and sacrifice of the Americans who served, including my son Major Beau Biden."

Biden was recently trolled for another slip-up. In the earlier gaffe, the US President reportedly vowed to "keep alive the truth and honour of the Holocaust". He corrected himself and replaced "honour" with "horror".
