Rohingya refugees from Bangladesh stranded in Andaman Sea, many feared dead

Atleast 100 Rohingyas are stranded in a boat off India’s Andaman Islands and as many as 16-20 may have died of starvation according to reports by Al Jazeera.

The boat, which set off from south Bangladesh on 26 November suffered an engine failure on 4 December after which it drifted into Indian waters.

The refugees on board had escaped from a refugee camp in Bangladesh and were heading in the boat to Malaysia via Indonesia.
