Pakistan: Blast in Lahore market selling Indian goods; at least 3 dead

Pakistan was rocked by a big explosion in Lahore on January 20. At least 3 people were killed and around 20 injured in a blast at the famous Anarkali market where Indian commodities are sold, as per reports. The injured were reportedly shifted to the Mayo Hospital.

In videos on social media, many shops and two wheelers were seen in damaged condition as fire-fighters tried to douse flames. Personnel of counter-terrorism departments and bomb disposal squads were rushed to the spot.

Police said that preliminary information suggested that a 'planted device' caused the explosion. "An unfortunate incident occurred here. When information of a blast was received, we swiftly reached the spot. Our counter-terrorism department teams are present there. BDU staff also there. I came to the hospital to meet the injured," said DIG Operations, Lahore.
