Dubai, Jun 12 (AP) - A sixth round of negotiations between Iran and the United States regarding Tehran’s advancing nuclear program is set for this weekend, as announced by Oman's Foreign Minister on Thursday.
Badr al-Busaidi shared the news on the social platform X. “I am pleased to confirm the 6th round of Iran-US talks will be held in Muscat this Sunday the 15th,” he wrote.
While Iran has been indicating the possibility of talks for several days, Oman, the mediator, confirmed the discussions only now. There has been no immediate comment from the United States.
Tensions in the region have escalated over the past day, prompting the US to reduce the number of non-essential staff and their families in the Middle East amid concerns over potential regional unrest. (AP)
