A school in New York is facing backlash online for suspending classes to make room for around 2,000 migrants. Furthermore, the students were asked to take classes remotely. These migrants were evacuated from a shelter due to an incoming massive storm. Mayor Eric Adams on January 9 said that the migrants are being moved from Floyd Bennett Field to James Madison High School as the tent faces the risk of collapse from torrential rains and gusting winds. However, the parents were not pleased with the last-minute decision. Tesla chief Elon Musk and New York City Council Member Inna Vernikov also jumped in and called the move “unacceptable".
