Netanyahu Warrant: US Senator Threatens ICC with ‘Hague Invasion Act’- 2002 USA Law Explained

Republican Senator Tom Cotton has invoked a US law in response to Netanyahu warrant. US lawmaker threatened ICC with ‘Hague Invasion Act’ passed in 2002. Biden could use ‘all means necessary’ to free US or allied people detained at the request of ICC. The law was passed to protect American service members from the ICC. Service-Members’ Protection Act; some have branded ‘The Hague Invasion Act', Rights groups said it’s intended to intimidate countries that ratify the ICC treaty. 

The law authorises the use of military force to liberate any American or citizen of a US-allied country.  Senator Tom Cotton: ‘ICC is a kangaroo court & Karim Khan is a deranged fanatic’.

“Let me give them all a friendly reminder: the American law on the ICC is known as The Hague Invasion Act for a reason. Think about it.” Republican Senator Tom Cotton said.

Biden admin rejected the ICC decision and said it is deeply concerned: report. The US reiterated that it believes that the ICC has no jurisdiction. The US will coordinate with Israel as well as its international partners to discuss the next steps.
