Peshawar, Oct 20 (PTI) At least four soldiers lost their lives, and 11 others were injured following a militant assault on paramilitary forces safeguarding a state-owned Gas Company's team in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Monday.

The attack occurred when militants opened fire on the soldiers protecting the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline (SNGPL) Company’s team near Kot Lalu, located in the Dera Ismail Khan district, which borders South Waziristan, according to officials. The assailants successfully escaped the scene following the attack.

The injured personnel were immediately transported to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dera Ismail Khan for medical treatment, officials confirmed. Security forces have secured the region and commenced a search operation to apprehend the militants.
