Afghan women leaders gathered at United Nations asking the world to do more for Afghan women. Women leaders joined the Summit organised by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres for Afghan women. Guterres highlighted deep crisis of gender-based discrimination, oppression faced by Afghanistan women. The even attended by Oscar winning actor and activist Meryl Streep, she introduced short film on Afghan women. Introducing ‘The Sharp Edge of Peace’ Streep described the story of Afghanistan as ‘a cautionary tale for the world’.
