Man ‘shot, chopped up’ in UK Kabaddi ground violence

Chaos broke out at Derby Kabaddi grounds in UK’s Alvaston after a man was “shot and chopped up” at a sports tournament.

Police said a total of three people have been injured in the incident, and have been taken to the hospital. Witnesses claim the violence was caused by a gang clash.

Videos on social media show crowds abandoning their vehicles and running to safety as gunshots were heard in the background, according to Mirror.

There was a large police presence at the Kabaddi ground. “They (victims) have all been taken to hospital. There is a large police presence in the area and officers are expected to remain at the scene for some time,” the police said.

Police have also urged witnesses to give testimonies.
