Italy's right-wing government is planning to ban the use of English in official communication, as per reports.

Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni's party Brothers of Italy has reportedly introduced a legislation which seeks to punish the use of any foreign language in formal communication.

The use of English or any other foreign language would invite a fine of up to €100,000 or $108,705, as per the proposed legislation.
