Dubai, Jun 13 (AP) Air raid sirens echoed over Amman, Jordan's capital, on Friday as Iranian drones headed toward Israel in response to recent Israeli strikes on Iran.

Two Iraqi security officials, who requested anonymity due to the sensitivity of the matter, reported that over 100 drones were launched from Iran toward Israel, tracking them as they crossed Iraqi airspace.

Residents in Iraq's Diyala province, adjacent to Iran, reported the sound of aircraft and explosions from strikes within Iranian territory early Friday.

Later, some witnesses observed drones being launched from Iran with a trajectory towards Israel.

The Israeli military announced that it was intercepting the drones outside of Israeli territory. (AP) NSA NSA
