Singapore, Sep 1 (PTI) — In a courtroom development, ten men of Indian origin have been charged over their alleged involvement in a violent brawl at a coffee shop in a Singapore industrial estate. The incident, which unfolded last month, left two individuals with serious stab wounds.
The accused have been identified as B Vinaash, 21; Khailash Misra Goppal, 22; Visva Manivannan, 23; Gokeda Prushothaman Naidu Gokeda Somu Naidu, 25; Vignesh Manivannan, 27; Jeremy Pravindran, 28; Ghanisheelan Vijaya Kumar, 30; Gokeda Sathish Naidu, 31; Joshua Navindran Suranthiran, 32; and Viknesh Rajandren, 33.
Additionally, Roy Tan Guo Rong, 34, who is of Chinese origin, was also implicated as part of the group.
According to The Straits Times, each individual is facing a charge of rioting while armed with a deadly weapon. If found guilty, the offenders could face a prison sentence of up to 10 years and subject to caning under local laws.
The group allegedly attacked two people at Block 9, Toa Payoh Industrial Park, one of Singapore's largest housing and industrial estates, just before 10 am on August 24.
Following the altercation, police reported that a 21-year-old victim suffered stab wounds to the arm, while another victim, aged 30, incurred a stab wound to his back.
