Israel Hamas war: Indian woman in Israel injured in airstrike in Ashkelon

As the war between Israel and Hamas continues, an Indian woman has been reportedly injured in airstrikes in Ashkelon which is a coastal city the southern part of Israel. 

The Indian Express reported that the 41-year-old Sheeja Anand from Kerala’s Kannur was reportedly injured during shelling on October 7 when she was speaking to her family on a video call. 

Sheeja, who works as a caregiver and is in Israel for the last seven years, is reportedly out of danger.

Thousands of Indians, many from Kerala, work as caregivers of the elderly in Israel.
