Indian student brutally assaulted in Chicago, video surfaces

An Indian student faced a brutal attack in United States' Chicago on February 6. Four similar incidents have been reported in the US recently.

In the latest incident, the man, who hails from Hyderabad, was reportedly attacked by multiple armed robbers and his phone was snatched.

In a video, the victim was seen bleeding profusely as he narrated the ordeal.

Following the attack, the Indian Consulate in Chicago said it is in touch with the victim and his wife and is providing all possible assistance.

"Consulate is in touch with Syed Mazahir Ali and his wife in India, Syeda Ruquiya Fatima Razvi and assured all possible assistance," the Indian Consulate in Chicago wrote in a post on X.

The Consulate has "also contacted the local authorities who are investigating the case."
